Dropping a Class

Day Program: A student who wishes to drop a class may obtain a Course Withdrawal Form from the Registrar’s Office and take it to the instructor and the advisor for approval. When a student withdraws from a course:

  • During the first week of classes (drop/add week), no grade will be assigned.
  • From the second week of classes through the Friday after midterms (by 5:00 pm EST of the 5th week of classes for Activity courses), the grade of "W" will be assigned with no impact on the student's grade point average (GPA).

The student bears full responsibility for all courses on his or her registration schedule. Failure to  file a withdrawal form with the Registrar and/or failure to complete a course will result in a grade of “F.”  Students forced by illness or other hardship to drop a class after the deadline may petition for a grade of “WP” from the Academic Dean.

Evening Classes: In the Evening Classes classroom format, students  must contact the instructor and the Registrar’s Office in Gaffney to drop a class. A Course Change Form will be completed by a staff member and given to the Enrollment Coordinator for the particular Evening Classes from which the student is withdrawing. When a student drops a course:

  • During the first week of classes (drop/add week), no grade will be assigned.
  • From the second week of classes through 5:00 pm EST of the 5th week of classes, the grade of "W" will be assigned with no impact on the student's grade point average (GPA).

Online Program: In the Online Program, students wishing to withdraw (after the drop/add period) from a course must contact the professor and submit a withdrawal form https://my.limestone.edu/offices/registrar/services or https://my.limestone.edu/forms to the Registrar’s office. Day students may not withdraw from an Evening Program classes and/or Online Program courses in terms 1, 2, 5, or 6 after the Day Campus program drop/add period without the written approval of the Academic Dean.
