For many students, the residence hall will provide the first opportunity for group living. Group living offers many and varied opportunities and responsibilities. It provides the opportunity to make new friends and to learn more about oneself through relationships with others.
Living with others can be exciting and challenging, but frustrating at times. The most successful living environment is one in which residents show consideration and respect for others. Each resident has a role to play in the establishment of an atmosphere conducive to personal, as well as intellectual development. As is true in any group situation, basic standards are necessary for the convenience and protection of all.
