Pets

Animals of any type are not to be brought to campus. Please see our Service Animal and Emotional Support Animal policy for exceptions.  

Pets and other animals are prohibited from all university owned buildings with the following exceptions:

  • A service animal in the service of a person with a disability.
  • An Approved Emotional Support Animal (ESA) approved by a committee in accordance with the ESA policy.
  • Animals invited to campus for an approved event

Any student found with an unauthorized animal on campus will be subject to conduct sanctions, including fines, and possible removal from campus housing without a refund.  There may be additional fines for a repeat offense, property damage, and/or creation of a campus nuisance.

  • First Offense: Written warning, immediate removal of the animal from the residence halls, and an immediate $100 fine, plus charges for any damages.
  • Second Offense: $250 fine, plus additional fines for any damages and immediate removal of the animal.
  • Third Offense: student removal from campus housing with no refund.

**In the event any animal is found to be abused or neglected, the student could face judicial board sanctions, fines, possible removal from campus housing, and a report to Animal Welfare authorities.**
